Austin, the new TMT Hub
With all of big tech moving down south to the Texas Capitol, will big banks follow? Interested to see how this will play out in the next few years.

lol everyone is "leaving california", but literally the only major company that has left is hp enterprises.
elon talks a lot of shit, but he never left the bay LMAO
Yeah it's kinda hilarious about Elon pretending to be anti California. I get the appeal factor of being against liberal government with big taxes but the talent pool is too good to dismiss.
I'm from a midwest state school and know two people personally that work at Tesla/SpaceX. May just be anecdotal but there's plenty of great engineers everywhere tbh.
No doubt there are. It's just easier to recruit when HQ'd in California when the proximity to Stanford is so close and you have an endless supply of grads that want to work there.
The ecosystems that support these industries aren't moving - universities, lawyers, bankers, investors, entrepreneurs, experienced workers, young and promising workers, etc. They've only left to take advantage of a temporary dislocation to our way of life.
While there's many articles that talk about urban flight (and fail to describe how urban flight will reverse itself), they also fail to mention the obvious - Florida really blows. In fact, Florida has always sucked. It's always been the red-headed stepchild of our fair union. Journalists can't really say that because they'll offend like 10% of their readers...but it's true and we all know it.
