Greenhill

How well did Greenhill analysts exit this year? I keep hearing in the news and sometimes on WSO that the firm is headed on a downward trajectory, but I was wondering how that bleeds into the firm's culture, pay, reputation, and exits at the analyst level.

If you do a LinkedIn search you'd be able to find the exits of analysts.

I too am curious as to how analysts are affected by the current situation the firm is in. Are there any past examples of how analysts and associates were affected by lower performance of the firm?

Also, are you considering a position at the firm OP?

From what I've seen using my LinkedIn searches, recent exits have been MM and close to Megafund firm's across the country (I assume you're wondering about USA exits). Haven't seen a top Megafund in awhile though, if that's what you're going after.

My suggestion is that if you haven't gotten an offer, it is worth while to pursue an opportunity. Are you trying to lateral or are you looking for internship evening?

Based on my conversations with Greenhill bankers, I don't think they think they are on a downwards path? 2017 was tough, but 2018 has been some fairly solid mandates, advisory revenues are op 50% compared to last year (80% Q3 vs Q3), they have recruited a bunch of new MD's and built out their RX group, the people i met seemed pretty happy, all had deals to talk about and the analysts seemed busy and smart. I don't know anything about analyst exits so I cant comment on that aspect and I may be wrong, but that was at least my impression.
