IS THIS A GOOD INTERNSHIP TO BREAK INTO LEVERAGED FINANCE LATER EVEN THOUGH IS NOT ORIGINATION? WHAT IS YOUR UNDERSTANDING ON THIS? PLEASE ADVICE....
SPOKE TO A GUY FROM THERE. IS A FRONT OFFICE ROLE. SAID THAT MANY ORIGINATION HAVE STARTED THERE.
ON LINKEDIN CAN FIND PRIVATE DEBT PORTFOLIO ANALYST AT EURAZEO WITH THIS PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE.
WHAT DO YOU THINK? i ALREADY HAVE THE OFFER....
First off, it strains the eyes to read your question, try not using uppercase and worse yet, boldening it.
Writing this since I wanted to help :) Yes, this is a good start and definitely front office. Sounds more like portfolio management of existing business the bank holds on its B/S and possibly you’ll spend more time on monitoring operational performance/leverage of companies your bank holds on its books and maybe writing quarterly/half-yearly updates for the credit committee/1st line of defence. But you’ll still learn credit analysis which is the most fundamental skill set a junior is expected to develop quickly. The description also includes occasional origination specific work so maybe you’ll collaborate with those guys on new transactions too.
TLDR: If you wish to do LevFin Origination in the future, take the offer.
