IB - Thoughts on wearing a Hair System?

24 year old male REGAL analyst at a BB. Balding pretty bad and it has taken a toll on my confidence. People think I'm almost 35 years old and the withering balding hairs make it look hard for me to look clean and put together. Have tried rogaine and finasteride. Both gave me sides. Rogaine led to heart palpitations and finasteride did not do much to slow or even really halt my balding while leading to significantly reduced libido. Used both for nearly 16 plus months. Not a candidate for transplant as I have alopecia areata as well impacting my donor area. Seriously consider a hair system and just wanted to see if anyone here has used one or gain feedback from like minded individuals (those who make decent money, like to go out, spend on nice clothes, watches, etc). Also welcome opinions from any females on the forum. I know this is a personal decision but still good to hear if anyone here wears a hair system and what their thoughts are.

Dealt with it. I only have one thing to say.. ACCEPT the reality and BUZZ IT OFF...

The sooner you accept your new look, the quicker you gain your confidence back. The day I went bald (after years on receding hairline) a female co worker came up to me and asked “so how does it feel now?” I said “feels great.. but its a struggle every morning with the face wash trying to figure out my if its my forehead or scalp” and we both laughed it off..

I can name a dozen men in Media, Fashion, Hollywood, Tech, Finance, Politics and etc who are bald, confident and thriving.. Sorry theres no Brad Pitt or Tom Cruise staring back at you any more every time you look in the mirror..but Jason Statham or Stanley Tucci.. yeah, maybe..

Yup, Asian here lol and did try out the bald look and just made me look like a potato.

Buzz it dawg. The hair system will bring waaaay more stress to your life than a solid buzz cut & acceptance. You are constantly going to be aware of it and paranoid whether or not people can tell, or if it is slipping off, etc. Plus they're a pain in the ass to deal with and I think sweating/working out in one causes a ton of issues as well.

I do know a buddy that got a Hair Transplant who looks great now though. He had really thick hair, but it was receding somewhat heavily and now he literally has movie star hair. But even he will admit it's going to be a pain in the ass later in life as he'll probably need a follow up procedure every ~5 years or so.

All these dudes saying “buzz it off” are defeatist. Depending on your situation load up a stack of the big 3 or book a flight to Turkey

He can't do a HT because he has diffuse thinning. People with super aggressive, diffuse thinning at a young age typically don't get great results from Fin/Min anyway, at a certain point the genetics are just too strong.

Yup exactly it’s the diffused thinning which makes it look whack. If I just had the receding corners, wouldn’t be as much of an issue tbh.

I say try it. Systems look real nowadays. Get a lace front poly base. Just don’t get one with way too much density or it will look unrealistic. At the end of the day everyone is focused on themselves nobody will care enough to judge you but if it helps you be more confident than get it and it can help you get more tinder matches/ons if that’s your thing.

Yup, reason I'm considering is my uncle has worn one his whole life and I never even knew until my mom told he wears one. Stupid post i guess as I’m just looking for confirmation but it is what it is. More so looking to see if anyone here in finance / IB wears one and what their experience with it is.

I think a shaved head looks better than a hair system but it will probably not make you look younger.  I also think the aging process is not as noticeable on guys with shaved heads.

Do you think hair systems are noticeable / obviously fake even if you get one with medium density (aka not a full luscious head of hair)?

I think shaving it off will make you look younger. I've never met anyone that was bald, that didn't look younger. I've noticed a beard goes very well with a bald head. However, I don't think it looks bad if you're clean-shaven. You should take the cards you're given and make the best of them. Having bits and pieces of your hair that are thin will make you look worse and older.

Or take the cards you're given throw them away and get reshuffled ? Plastic surgery, non invasive cosmetic procedures, derm treatments, hair transplants, there's a million things you can do lmao

kid in one of my classes is bald and mildly athletic, rocks his look pretty well tbh for being like 20 or 21. good looking dude. no harm in trying a hairpiece but wouldn't stress if it doesn't look as good as you want or keeping it up stressed you out more, nothing wrong with being bald and rocking it.

Diffused thinning. Has impacted my donor area as well. So my donor area hairs have weakened as well. They are thicker than those on the top of my scalp for sure, but have Still diffused nonetheless.
