Irish undergrad choice
HI guys,
I'm from Ireland and in the last year of high school. I'm interested in a career in IB in london. I know its ideal to go to a target like lse/cambridge/oxford/imperial/ucl but on linkedin I've seen people from these courses start jobs as front office analysts in BBs.
I've received offers for Maths and Economics in Trinity College, Dublin and Finance and economics in UCD. The trinity couse is a four year double major while the ucd one is a three year integrated program (link if you care http://www.ucd.ie/quinn/courses/economicsandfinan… ) Trinity is ranked in the top 100 worldwide and ucd in the top 200, trinity also has a better international reputation, so I've heard.
Is doing a CFA lvl 1 worth it during college for IB, or should I be concentrating on grades, networking and getting internships?
Can anyone in london/nyc tell me what trinity's reputation is over there, or even if its existent?
I'm aware that networking/internships and a rounded CV is vital for IB, but keeping all that constant, what course would look more favorable to an interviewer?
Extra question: would a masters in finance in LSE /Imperial/HEC solve the issue of not attending a target or is a masters redundant for IB?
Thanks in advance.
