Is it rude to email my SA bank to ask about status of internship if I haven't heard anything recently?

I am in incoming SA at a MM boutique. I got an email nearly a month ago from the bank that was very generic ('situation is fluid, we are concerned about employees health, blah blah') but it gave no concrete reassurances and I haven't heard anything recently, even as lots of BB/EB give updates to their interns.

Is it seen as rude or pushy to email someone at the bank and ask what the deal is? I need to figure out if I'm signing a lease or should book flights if its in person, or if I should be upgrading my wifi and setting up monitors if its WFH. Considering my start date is the first week of June, I don't think it would be unreasonable to ask. Would it be seen as too pushy or annoying if I send a question?

If I were to email, I also don't know who the most appropriate person to email would be. I've never been in touch with HR (outside of just a '[email protected]' email address which is probably swamped from 2021 applications). Normally I'd just reach out to an analyst, but I spoke to another incoming SA who spoke to an analyst and the analyst was clueless, so I think i'd probably need to go to higher up the chain. How would a VP or an MD react if an SA emailed them to ask about my internship?
