Moving back to the US
Hi all,
So I know there have been some previous threads about this but wanted to get an updated view - would be very helpful as I consider the next steps in my career.
As some background, I grew up in the US, went to a target and ended up choosing to do IB at a BB in HK instead of NY. Fortunately my entire team was ex LDN / ex NY so I would say my training was pretty solid by a global standard (no templates, etc). I ended up quitting after my 2 years (no structured PE recruiting process here and team was paranoid about analysts jumping) and joined a pan-Asia PE fund here where I cover India and Southeast Asia PE (non MF but people are from legit backgrounds); have been at the fund for about 1 year thus far.
Now, being the somewhat risk conscious person I am, I would ideally like to keep the option of moving back home. Assuming I attend a top 10 business school (of course this is easier said than done), what are the main hesitations that a US fund would have when considering my app. Would the fact that I have done PE in an emerging market hold me back significantly?
Thanks guys,
Lewiz
