My group is full of incompetent and wealthy kids

I cannot believe out of 7 people, only 2, including myself, actually know accounting.

I'm asking one analyst to help me out filling numbers with a high-level, illustrative DCF for a pitch. He legit sent me another model I created in case I need help...

5 out of 7 people, excluding myself, are connected to my MD.

The lateral market is not that hot anymore, and it's not easy to just lateral to another bank.

The upside is the hours. I spend 2 hours doing what others take 6-8 hours to do because work is too easy for me. That also means no growth. Pay is below street/poor since deal flow is not good.

I used to think the golden days of nepotism are over.

Boy, I was wrong.

That was such a stupid thing to say that IB analysts who are minorities literally cannot read.

OP said it himself that most juniors at the company do not even know accounting but had the connections to know an MD so well they at least have a job.

I would be a million dollars if possible that the people OP is talking about who don't even know how to model but still have a job are the likely to be among the ones on here bitching and moaning that a black guy or woman from Harvard/MIT/Wharton "stole" their seat at GS/JPM/MS.

Hope all of you that complain about minorities see your future as this MD who's runs a nepotism based team and has no deal flow. Anyone not smart enough to see that diversity helps their business will likely not be very successful in this field.

The lateral market is that hot right now, I am getting blown up every week for EBs / MMs / BBs and I am a non target with average experience.

Edit: that comment wasnt meant to be snarky or unhelpful, if you want to PM your email address I can suggest the recruiters reaching out to me reach out to you.

Edit 2: Not sure why I am getting MS for offering to help someone?

OP here.
I got this dude whose dad legit sits on a couple of healthcare company’s board as an academic expert in that particular vertical. The only thing this analyst knows is how to beef up his biceps and race cars. He is actually both fat and…muscular ? I don’t know what his deal is man, but his dad ? Yeah I totally see why my MD pretty much invited this analyst on board.
