Realistic Expectations for a Junior Transfer Student With no Experience
Hello,
I am a 19-year-old former community college student transferring to UC Berkeley for Fall 2021. They have admitted me as an undergraduate Pre-Economics major, which means I cannot transfer into Haas at any point. I currently have no experience other than running my own business delivering essential goods and a part-time management position at a small business (entertainment center).
I am mostly interested in client-facing finance jobs, which is why I gravitated toward IB and PWM/PB. Until I started looking through the careers I was interested in out of graduation, I did not realize how far behind I am compared to my peers, especially being half-Asian and half-White.
I obviously plan on hustling, getting internships in Spring 2022 and Summer 2022, all while working to get the best grades possible. However, my question is: will this be enough to earn an IB or PWM/PB offer at a BB or EB out of graduation at Spring 2023?
If so, does anyone have specific advice on how I can achieve this? I am not opposed to staying a third year, though I would rather not accrue debt if possible, and location does not matter to me as long as it is in the United States. I already know which courses I need to take and that I need to network relentlessly.
If this is not possible, can anyone let me know what I could reasonably expect as a transfer student from a semi-target?
If anybody has anything to write, I would appreciate having the chance to read it.
Thank you.
Hi GynoRhino-, the silence is deafening, sorry about that.... Any of the threads below helpful?

If those topics were completely useless, don't blame me, blame my programmers...

Hey man, PM me and I’ll give you some pointers. I came from non target background to IB. I did some steps that you probably don’t want to do but I’d be happy to share my experience
I'm in a similar position in Florida. I was advised to see if delaying graduation was an option. Maybe try exploring a minor that's somewhat related.
