retake the gmat???
Hey,
I got a 710, is it high enough to land a job as an analyst at Goldman Sachs or Morgan Stanley in London?
I have a 3.6 GPA from a top university (think LSE/LBS/UCL). My friend told me that I wouldn't make it to McKinsey so I thought I would try the investment banking instead. Is it feasible to recruit for an analyst the following year???
Thanks.
Is the 3.6 from a MSc program?
Those UK universities don't have US style GPAs, they have a degree classification system...
Unless you converted a upper second class to that gpa (but you would know that 2:1s are perfectly acceptable being in the UK).
Your GMAT score is only important for Master's courses that require them.
During job applications I've only seen a section to include a GMAT score once. 710 in itself is still very good but unless you need it for a Master's, it's virtually useless for recruiting.
A degree from one of your listed schools is more than enough to get into a top IBD position in London.
A higher GMAT score is always nicer to have; certainly not necessary though.
