Risk Management for Sophomore Internship
Just got an interview for Prudential Risk Management. I get that it’s early in my sophomore year and I have time to lock down other opportunities, but I understand that risk management is not exactly the best pre SA internship in terms of transferable skills. Any thoughts? Of course I have to get an offer first, but if I do, should I hold out for something better or take bird in hand at a reputable name?
What is your goal? IBD/S&T?
As a general rule, it’s not what your role is. It’s what you make of it and how you find ways to make it relevant.
You still have a few weeks to continue interviewing at other firms even if you get this. Just keep in mind I read somewhere that some firms are shrinking class sizes for IBD. Not sure if it’s true but could also impact decisions for sophomores. Side note the people at Pru are great.
It's only a sophomore internship. At the end of it you can just hype understanding of excel and financial metrics as you recruit for junior year IB SA. Use it as an opportunity to learn in a more relaxed setting.
