What can I do now?
I'm a sophomore in college right now, and majoring in finance, interested in ibanking.
My dad has a foot in the door for me with an ibank. The guy said they already have an intern for this upcoming summer (I asked him about it in December), but would keep me in mind. What types of things can I do now to make sure that I can get the internship for next summer? I don't want to be a pest emailing him and stuff, asking him what I can do etc. What do you guys think?
Do something else in finance so you can have it on your resume. It'll make you much more attractive to banks next summer.
As far as what? Join a club at school? Take more finance classes?
What types of summer type jobs do I-banks like? I've been a teller the past 2 summer and I'm trying to get away from it, so is there any other types of jobs they particularly like?
anyone else have any comments?
i think someone deleted my prior post. but you should start trading/investing on your own. I got into trading options when i was a soph in college, and I put it on my resume..something like activley manage option portfolio for PA.
Every place I interviewed seemed to be very impressed. helped me land a spot.
I mean get a job in finance field. Find something locally, wealth management, or whatever. Call and send resumes to local firms.
Ok even mailroom duty will help you get internships at BB in the future if you do it at Goldman Sachs or Morgan Stanley. Maybe make some money on the side too......
Yes especially if you call it "Document Management"
