Canadian wants to work in IB in the U.S
So I'm a Canadian undergrad and I really want to get into IB in the U.S because they have more exit opportunities and bigger capital markets overall. Does anyone know how much harder it is to get in to good American banks as a Canadian/International. Because wouldn't banks rather hire American citizens since they don't have to bother with sponsoring visas?

Probably the same difficulty as any other international students.
Truth be told a lot of these types of questions result in the same answer. It’s always hard to break into IB from any angle, but anyone who tries hard and networks enough can get in.
I’m not at all sure how hirings work, but getting hired at a Canadian bank like RBC and then transferring to an American office may be a good play, but take that with a grain of salt as Idrk.
