Credit analysis out of undergrad
Hey guys,
Currently a senior at a non-target SEC school graduating in May.
FT recruiting did not exactly go my way in the fall, and now I am stuck searching for positions during my last semester. Right now, I am looking heavily into credit analyst jobs, both at regional banks and other (manufacturing, etc) companies in the area.
I have 2 decent internships, one at a small CPA/financial services firm in the city where I attend school, and one unpaid internship in private equity (a company that connected LPs to GPs during fundraising, not exactly analytic experience) during my summer studying in London. I am graduating with a very average GPA.
I am also curious about career progression; I plan on getting my CFA eventually, hoping that will help me transition into a better role at a bigger bank/company.
I am looking for any insight from people in credit analyst/risk analysis about what I can do that may help me and what regions/jobs I should be applying for, as well as anyone who may have any general advice.
Thanks
Which SEC school are you located at? Feel free to PM me if you don't want to say publicly.
pm'ed you
I assume the job at the manufacturer is commercial credit. Is the one at the bank credit risk or commercial?
