from software engineer to mfin -- is this switch worth it
Hi -- long story short, i am a software engineer at a big tech. have been working since graduated from college, and last year i applied to a few MFE programs and luckily got into princeton MFin. I am not particularly interested in quant / math, and for my current job i don't have much to complain about. the only reason I applied is very personal, family related. so, is it really worth it that i give up my experiences in tech and go to the program? i am not particularly strong in math / stats so to be conservative i will take a pay cut after graduation (not be able to land a job at a fund / prop trading firm), and by the time i graduate i will be in my late 20s. Any advice would be appreciated! i have been debating with myself for the past few months, and i still cannot get the answer. thank you in advance
