Hold List for Citi

I was informed by the Citi recruiter today that I am on the "hold list" for the Ops Analyst job. They said they really liked me, etc blah blah but they want to wait till the next superday (this Friday) to see how those people are and they will let me know by next week.

What should I do in this situation? I have the emails of the people who interviewed me. Also, I have a contact(family friend) at Citi who holds a decent position (but not in the ops department). Should I contact him and ask him to send a good word? And if he agrees - who should he in turn contact?

Has anyone been in this situation before?

Thanks all.

Chill, you posted 2 hours ago.

Contacting your interviewer(s) won't help since they no longer have a say in the hiring decision. It's all up to HR and the managers interviewing at the superday. Also, I feel like even though you have a contact, the decision has been made. It's worth a try to have him contact Jillian, but don't expect anything.

Haha good to know guimion11. I have the emails of the managing directors who interviewed me on superday as well, not just the initial screener.

Should I email the MDs to let them know, hey don't forget about me, etc? How is that looked upon?

Apologies for the anxiety.

Oh ok, I thought you were waitlisted for the superday. Yeah, it is out of the MDs hands now. It's all up to HR.

On an unrelated note, was the superday like the first round in that it was behavioral questions or was it something different?

I really shouldn't be telling you since you are technically my competition lol. Just kidding - the interview was purely behavior. Just know your resume inside out.
