Long term career in Finance
Hi guys,
Everyone on this board is crazed on exit opps, especially private equity. The "dream" job (ex. GS TMT, MS M&A) is so that you can use the exp as a stepping stone in your future application to KKR and Blackstone. But for some people such as myself, that's not it.
Fuck moving around from firm to firm because of compensation and prestige.
What I'm looking for is the BEST long term career - the job where i enter as an undergrad, slowly move up the ranks and retire, after having worked there for 30+ years. That means, good enough compensation (mid six figures), great culture and people, and Interesting work
WSO, which career within the realm of banks or HF, is the best for this? What about you WSO, what are your thoughts?
Good for you? Lol
Sounds like F500 Finance. IB/HF/PE certainty are not good places to start your career and have a slow, methodical jog to retirement 30 years later at the same place lol.
I would join a F500 development program, get a top MBA then join a blue-chip Mega-Cap F100.
It can be done in IB but may be easier at a semi-chilled MM which isn't a sweatshop. Start at the bottom and reach MD.
