Offer from a firm in flux
Friend has an offer from a west coast firm that has had much takeover chatter, but nothing firm yet. During interview, they downplayed any possible layoffs/consolidation implications. He loves the firm/role, but is extremely nervous about the uncertainty. Obviously he can just decline, but for a junior level position, is there any thing that can be negotiated to mitigate the risk? My guess at his level is no.
