Pre graduation preparation

I am graduating December of this year with a bachelors of science in economics. While I know taking ang exams or certifications won’t help me massively, I was still planning on taking either the series 66, or CFA level 1 prior to graduation to slightly boost my resume. I realize the cfa level 1 is only once a year in June, so if I went that route I would just study during my last semester of school. I am hoping for employment in the financial advisory or asset management sectors. Any input on what I should focus on, study materials, or other ideas will be greatly appreciated.
