resume sent.....no reply after 7 days?
Hello there, I will be turning sophomore at a target in NYC. A friend of mine got me a chance to apply for an internship in a small firm, and I sent the employer my resume a week ago.... but still no reply. Still waiting.
Does that mean that I am not likely to get it, or should I email the employer to find out what's going on?
It's not a good sign, but at this point, I would show some initiative and either make a call or shoot an email to touch base and check to see if they've received your resume. You're not going to piss anyone off, and, at this point, you are probably a bit of a long shot, so I would just take a chance, reach out and remind them of your interest and drive.

bankonbanking is right on following up with the firm to see the status of your candidacy, it can't hurt. However, I don't think the lack of reply means lack of interest. I have sent my resume and have been called for an interview like 1.5 weeks later, and a friend of mine got called after almost a month.
