Too late for diversity recruiting?

I realize I'm a bit late into the game, didn't realize I wanted to pursue a career in investment banking until now. I noticed that most diversity applications for banks already closed, but I am still going to recruit through normal processes. My question is, should I still join programs like SEO, MLT, Inroads, etc? Will they help me at all for normal processes? I've spoken to a few people in SEO and they said their 2023 internship process doesn't even start until a few weeks from now, which I thought was strange considering diversity processes have pretty much concluded.

Thanks. I'm just not too sure what these programs actually do/help you with, just seen some upperclassmen with these programs on their resumes and placed very well. Didn't know if they just went through the accelerated processes with these programs, or did it through the normal recruiting cycle. I'll definitely reach out to them

Lmao. If you read my post, you would have seen that I am also recruiting through the normal timeline. You trying to shit on me for "taking the easy way", or trying to discount my abilities because I happen to be a diversity candidate is quite funny. If I happen to qualify for an accelerated process, why would I not take it? I know for a fact if you had the opportunity to go through the diversity timeline, you would as well.

I'm anti-affirmative action, but as long as those spots exist there is no reason it shouldn't be used. Those spots won't go to regular SAs.

I know you can still apply to BlackRock program(forgot the name) which I know is AM not IB. Try attending recruiting events, networking, and getting in contact with recruiters. Mention your diversity status (don’t need to specify) and that you’re highly interested in their bank and ask if there is still availability for diversity recruiting. I would finish networking and emailing recruiters one week from today so you can get info, prepare yourself, and give them time to schedule your interviews before normal recruiting starts in April. You can always be in the normal pool of candidates, and we don’t need to have the diversity convo in this thread, but I would act fast. I don’t know how competitive of a candidate you are but if you are top bucket I wouldn’t worry too much either way.
