Upcoming grad with no internship looking for advice
Any suggestions? I graduate this spring from a non target school in northeast Ohio, I will have a major in finance and minor in accounting. No finance related work. I've had a campus job and summer job managing a pool. I plan on sitting for CFA level 1 in June.
I also plan on sitting for the Level 1 CFA in June. Just wondering what my chances look like without an internship. Thanks
You should focus most of your energy on passing Level 1. If you pass, plenty of job opportunities will open. Don't even start a job until after the exam.
In the meantime, do the usual networking. Let people know that you are a CFA candidate, which shows you are serious. Build relationships now so you can leverage them for a job once you pass.
Find the best job you can ASAP.
Thanks for the input. Mainly, I was just curious if the CFA level 1 would cover me for not getting an internship in undergrad.
No. Anyone can be a CFA level 1 candidate. If it helps you at all, it will be marginal at best. Maybe if you pass, it will give you an extra talking point.
