Greetings from Taiwan!
Hi everybody!
My name is Alex. I'm an American currently living and working in Taipei, Taiwan. I've been an expat for my entire working career: first as an ESL teacher, now as a consultant. Late last year I decided that 2015 was the year I moved back home and started a proper career.
I'm currently working for a Business English consultancy as an account manager. My role is primarily one of business development, but I must also organize and coordinate the training I sell to my clients - nearly all of whom are Fortune 500 companies with offices in Taipei.
Although Taipei is an amazing city, I cannot see much growth for me in my current job, nor in the city itself. Salaries are low and it's basically impossible for an expat to get hired locally and still get a nice expat package.
That's why I've decided to move back to the States, preferably somewhere in the East so I'll be closer to home. I signed up for Wall Street Oasis to look at the consulting forum, but I'm also interested in looking for jobs in finance.
