Overtime Pay as a Summer Analyst?
In many states, employers are required to pay overtime for all hours worked over 40hr/wk.
Is it common practice for interns to log overtime hours and collect overtime?

Just go with the flow. Value the internship experience.
Speaking for Europe but similar laws exist and your contract typically exempts you from those laws. It's not common (or uncommon) practice to log and be paid for overtime (rest assured your compensation will be nosebleed high compared to any over summer job anyway)
Not if you want a return offer lol. That's not how 99% of jobs in this industry work. Overtime is for people who work hourly, not salaried.
If you are at any large bank, log the actual hours you work. Everyone I know logged their overtime and got paid for it during internships. Don’t give HR any problems with you not logging your correct hours. Don’t listen to people saying not to log them, that’s bs, you will get a return offer as long as you do a good job.
Thanks for this lol. Seems like a lot of people have their head in different places regarding this issue. What about a MM bank? should be fine?
