UC Berkeley would likely give you more options for IB, but you'd have to take some of the accounting and finance courses and network more than usual given your atypical background / major.
Tough call. UCLA will be a more "clear-cut" path because you will line up with the rest of econ students....UCLA typically places around 40-60 kids a year with about a 1/3 in LA, 1/3 in SF, 1/3 in NY. Berkeley is MUCH better for SF recruiting but comparable in Los Angeles. I can't speak to political economy but you should be aware the Haas kids get all the look first then everyone else gets seconds......I'd personally recommend UCLA just because its more of a precedent track than coming from political economy at Berkeley...congrats on both schools though and good luck!
