Asset managment to Private equity

I really want to transition from my current field (Asset Management) to Private Equity, but my college will end at the end of the year, and I'm in a big dilemma about what to do. I might get a permanent position in the company where I've been working for over a year, but I'm not sure if I could land a junior analyst role in a Private Equity firm; I might have to start as an intern.

1- I don't see significant opportunities for learning and growth in my current job moving forward. 2- The salary for an analyst at my current job isn't much higher than what I currently earn. 3- Some days at work are quite uneventful, leaving me bored, and I fear falling behind in the competition.

3- I find it challenging to find a Private Equity position, considering most companies don't hire candidates in their final semester of college about to graduate. 4- My family's company might venture into Private Equity in a few years, and I'm considering making this change to contribute to the company's future.

I'm not sure if it sounds confusing, but could you provide some guidance for this lost intern in life?
