Best sources of PE related news and deal flows
Hi all - I'm moving into a role in the US which is going to have me looking at the US PE market quite closely (not actually working in PE, but need to have finger on pulse of the main movements and deals, who's looking where etc).
Looking on Reddit I'm not finding many subreddits dedicated towards PE and PE deals (more on VC, but is not something I'll really be covering). Tend to use Reddit for various aspects of personal and professional life, but this particular channel seems under-covered there.
I've subscribed to PEHub wire's email, Pitchbook, SeekingAlpha to get things started, but is there anything in particular that the industry itself uses?
Thanks in advance
You should definitely add to your list PENews.com!
Okay yep, this is exactly what I'm looking for. These types of sites are great to get a feel - thanks for this.
With PENews, PEHub etc I'm feeling good on the formal news side, now would just love to complement this with something less formal/more discussion based.
The reason I brought up Reddit is because I feel you can get more candid insights (e.g. r/consulting gives a great insight into the daily lives/struggles of people in this industry). Obviously not looking for anything MNPI w.r.t to PE, but more wanted to find an environment where people were discussing active deals more informally - if such a forum even exists.
Never though about Reddit for a source. I'm doing a PE internship this summer and these sources may help give insights I otherwise wouldn't see. Just curious, are the Reddit discussion related to specific industries such as B2B in my case?
Great post!
Reddit has seemed awful to me for anything professional.
Be careful in seekingalpha. A lot of really bad stock analysis there. I use it to get the pulse of market some, but any of the articles are very amateurish. Big flaws. Regurgitate old information. Seekingalpha is basically a how to get retail to do stupid things for hedge funds to rip off.
Infrastructure PE News Sources (Originally Posted: 08/14/2018)
I know infrastructure can mean a huge variety of things, but what are some good news sources to get a better understanding of larger deals? Would it be trade journals or something like that?

I've might have seen a couple on the Morning Brew newsletter. If you're not subscribed, I recommend that you do anyway because it provides daily updates
