Chicago IB to NYC PE

I just took an offer with a MM IB with major operations in Chicago (think Baird, Blair, Lincoln, Gugg, etc.) I am wondering how difficult it would be to move from Chicago IB to NYC PE. Obviously not talking about any kind of MFs but just MM PE in NYC

I am very familiar with one of those mentioned; and at least in that specific case, it would not be a problem.

A number of NYC PE firms also have a Chicago office, and they tend to be fairly warm to those you mentioned in Chicago. At least in my experience.

I'm not sure of specific details beyond that, and others are likely better suited to answer with recent information.
