Interned for a HF while in b school and didn't particularly like it. There are people who thrive at hedge funds but it takes a certain personality to do so.

I like it. I'm at a LMM firm and junior folks get a good amount of responsibility given lean deal teams. I also like that in addition to the finance side, I get exposed to portco operations, HR decisions, etc. which gives me a better all-around understanding of business and companies.

HF never interested me as (i) I like having more influence on companies (i.e. PE majority buyouts vs. small HF stakes) and (ii) I think the constant measurement of success (i.e. you can check the market and see where you stand every 5 minutes) would drive me crazy.
