Drafting Emails for Superior
Does anyone else get asked to draft emails for their boss / superior?
I'm just wondering if this is a common ask for those in IB or PE? I was in IB before and was never asked to do this but at my current firm I'm often asked to draft emails to for my boss to send.
It's not too often, maybe a couple times a month, and they are usually emails to LPs / Investors, etc. Been doing it for a while and was just curious if this was the norm at other shops.
Yes 100% the norm this is very common

Very normal. Often i then am told to just send the email, but not uncommon for them to send it as well after they've reviewed/tweaked
All the time. It can be annoying, but I actually think it can also be helpful to put yourself in their shoes and think about how the other party is going to read it and whether you’re conveying the right message - it’s dumb but can help prepare you for some of the minor / less-appreciated aspects of a senior role
happens all the time to me at my BB
