Moving from Investment Banking to Portfolio Operations and Monitoring at top Private equity brand

I am contemplating a switch from investment banking to a tier 1 private equity portfolio operations and monitoring role. The money expected would be really good. I wont have a carry component in the first year but will be added to the pool in the 2nd year.

I do not like to work hours that come with investment banking. I have spent 5 years in investment banking and would have really liked to get into investing roles but since I haven't done an MBA, none of the good PEs are interviewing me for investing roles.

This portfolio operations role is also in my hometown because of which I am attracted to it.

How do I decide and what all should I consider? How will it affect my career ahead?
