SMB / MM PE vs. Megafund

Hi everyone,

Currently in a process with a continental European PE fund focused on SMBs / mid-market. The firm raised its first fund and successfully acquired already a few companies and are focusing on growing their team over the next years. The compensation all good, carry from day 1 onwards and it seems like a place with a good exposure to the entire investing chain and a good chance to progress internally. NOW the only worrying factor that I have is reputation and brand, ie it would be my first PE job and I wanted to hear your thoughts on career progression and if you think its a big risk factor to join a more or less non-established brand and that as your first job you should rather join a more well-known brand etc.

I don't want to start any fundamental discussions / arguments but would really appreciate your thoughts.

Thank you

Best
