Taking a Haircut on Job Title

Hey guys, I have spent around 18 months in PE. Out of those 18 months, 8 months were spent working / interning part-time during MBA at two different firms; the remaining ten months at a firm I joined upon graduating MBA and that I had to leave due to an exogenous factor (non-performance related). My experience prior to MBA is 3 years of ib and a year of operating exp.

I recently moved geographies and am now based where I neither went to school nor do I have any business experience/relationships here. Since I am still gunning for PE and see PE as a long-term home for me, I am targeting junior Associate roles so I can get my foot in the door. When responding to people, who say I am at a disadvantage for senior associate roles due to my lack of experience and relationships in the region, how do I tell them to consider me for a more junior role? Is it ok to phrase it like this:
Since I am deeply passionate about a long-term career in PE, I am not myopic about how I view my steps. I am fine coming in at a more junior role as I am confident in my ability to deliver and get promoted. As [this region] is a long-term home for me, I view this as an investment in my future.

Any thoughts on this strategy? Do you smell desperation or commitment? If commitment, any thoughts on how I'm wording it? Am I being verbose? I'd love for someone mature to chime in on this. Thanks very much.
