Bryant Park Village Retail
Was visiting NYC this past weekend and walked through the Bryant Park Village holday set up with the ice rink and all the little stores. Place was absolutely shoulder to shoulder jammed as far as the eye could see and my mind started thinking about the economics of all those little retail booths there (and the restaurant, etc.).
Kind of random but does anyone know any of the details about the RE side of this or other similar seasonal type of attractions? Like who is the landlord, what rents are like, how they structure the leases, etc.
Usually contracted out to a private operator. I know the Union Square Holiday market is Urbanspace.
Not sure how successful some of these are, though.... people walking through =/= people buying. And unlike, say, a mall or a shopping center, some folks may just be there for the park and the scenery.
