BX AM Analyst / Summer Analyst
Thoughts on an Asset Management (Summer) Analyst role at Blackstone? I've heard they are quite silo'd where an analyst only does AM for a specific asset class in a specific area.
How hard would it be for someone to transition into an acquisitions role (not internally, but laterally to another top shop). I know pay is high regardless, but is one pigeonholing themselves for the sake of "prestige?"
Curious how exit opps would differ from BX AM to Acquisitions or Originations or Capital Markets?
I swear this question is asked once a month. If you can’t research this exact thread that was posted 5 other times on WSO, blackstone ain’t hiring you. Good luck
Hoping to get a more in-depth response than the ones already posted. Thanks!
If you work in Blackstone AM, you can easily pivot to a MM-UMM Acquisitions role. If I were you, I'd take it -- most junior BX employees get pushed out and eventually end up at the same spot you'll be in (while you'll have more years in the seat.)
What is a shop such as “MM/UMM?”
Do you have an offer or just considering whether to apply?
Yes. Received offer.
wouldn't be hard to lateral to acquisitions somewhere. I've worked with the BX AM and it's a great place to learn/start your career.
Would you mind sharing the comp of the offer?
