Consulting to RE - what modeling courses to take?
Currently in consulting doing strategic finance projects. Been interested in the RE world and want to make the jump soon. What modeling courses should I take that would 1) actually help me do the job and 2) look good on a resume that doesn’t have direct RE experience? What different types of modeling should I be mastering if I go after asset management vs acquisitions?
Also in a pt MBA program that has a real estate concentration (firm is sponsoring some of it).

Do you have a background in LBOs of any kind? Real estate is pretty much the same, the only difference is revenue projections are a bit easier.
BIWS has a solid RE modeling course that helped me break into the industry. It also dives into basic RE concepts that any entry level candidate should know. Highly recommend.
Not sure how much it would help the resume, but good talking point to show interviewers you have entry level knowledge and are motivated. Will certainly prepare you for modeling tests as well.
BIWS or A.CRE, I'd go A.CRE personally. They don't really hold a lot of weight IMO, but it's a good way of showing your genuine interest in the industry. REFM is alright as well.
