Yes, which group
Tenant representation
don't know much about that group. C&W has great training for all junior members, great place to start.
No worries. Do you have any comments on the groups you do know? Trying to get a sense of the work environment.
I know someone in Landlord Rep for Office and Tenant Rep for Retail. Both do well and are good people.
Much of your training in brokerage, if any, is going to depend on the senior brokers you work for (if you work on a team). Tenant rep is a really large swath of brokers. C&W does have a rotational training program (forgetting the name at this point in time) where you rotate through 3 or 4 groups over a pre-determined period. Post this program, you work to get placed on a team. If you are looking to do tenant rep, I highly recommending working for a senior broker and figuring out how they plan to train you and teach you as you build your book. Also ask if they plan on allowing you to work on their assignments with them, so you can learn. And make sure they will pay you for this (out of the commission as well). It’s unfortunately very common for a junior to work for a senior broker who adds them to their team and either A) doesn’t staff them on their transactions or B) if they are staffed on their transactions, pays them 1%-3% of the commission as a thank you and says you should be lucky to work on this. Unfortunately, even if it’s a $1MM commission, that doesn’t go very far and doesn’t pay the bills. Will you be getting a draw?
