Do you get paid more as an Associate coming from 2 years IB vs 2 years at a smaller REPE shop?
Currently at a reputable REPE shop with $20bn AUM. I am thinking about moving to another firm for my associate years after my 2 analyst years and was wondering if people coming out of IB get paid more at that level vs someone in my situation.
For reference I joined my firm straight out of undergrad and have no IB experience.
No
If anything you’ll get paid more coming from a smaller REPE shop. I did the IB route and a lot of the good firms are requiring prior buyside experience for associate roles
Really? Interesting to hear. Which shops have you had this experience with?
