Do you get paid more as an Associate coming from 2 years IB vs 2 years at a smaller REPE shop?

Currently at a reputable REPE shop with $10-40 bn AUM. I am thinking about moving to another firm for my associate years after my 2 analyst years and was wondering if people coming out of IB get paid more at that level vs someone in my situation. For reference I joined my firm straight out of undergrad and have no IB experience.

Wow congrats on the switch. Do you have any tips on this process? I just started at a 8B+ AUM REPE shop but my pay for the amount of hours I work is terrible. Do you think 1 year of experience is enough to move over to a MF?

So do CBRE analysts just get like GP tier roles? How does a senior IS sales analyst in a tier 1.5 market like california (non LA) or Miami get into MF repe?

Do you…do you think “LP” jobs are superior to “GP” jobs?

I mean there's a difference in some Owner Operator GP and Carlyle/BX and the type of candidates that are allowed to join. The question is valid...

Also yes, GP jobs pay worse at all levels below VP/Dev MGR.
