How will it ever be possible to streamline CRE data/bring it to the same stage of technological advancement as other industries?

Owners and investment firms hate sharing data. Even finding simple figures like taxes can be a pain in the ass without paying $$$ for some software or spending an obnoxious 10 minutes on some county site. Even then, the data in CoStar and alike is absolute ass cheeks and inaccurate half the time. Even with the best comps you can find, there is a significant amount of guesstimating. Is the real estate industry going to be archaic forever?

This post/question may not be worded the best but I'm curious to hear all your thoughts.
