There will be sub portfolios kicked out. PacWest portfolio had some life science kicked out that more standard groups got a look at

 

I’m not sure why someone would want to own NYMF loans. You get reporting on a napkin like once a year and the operators can’t raise rent at the rate expenses are increasing.

I mean, you're sort of answering your own question.  Buy the non-performing loans, wait for default, boot the operators, and take control yourself.  Most of these loans are probably shit but there are likely to be a couple gems in there.

Having your opex blow out means a lot less when your basis is essentially zero.  Why not take a flyer at that point?
