Sixth Street

Feel like someone has posted about them recently so my bad if the search function is failing me… Could anyone share thoughts on Sixth Street? I know they are massive and seem to hire really high caliber folks. Was checking out their recent Associate posting for SF office in their RE special situations group. Any insight on what that group does, culture, comp?

Compensation is high by RE standards but on the finance side very low for a fund that was TPG's Special Situations & Credit arm until 2020. Formerly known TPG Opportunities Partners -> TPG Special Situations Partners -> TPG Sixth Street Partners. Not sure if they have a dedicated fund yet but tap into TAO which is sixth streets 25BN permanent capital-esq vehicle that can invest in anything as long as it meets hurdles (i.e mortages or private equity buyouts) and can use opportunistic vehicles if needs as well.

Have heard comp is 250k give or take not all cash (w/def comp) and a sweatshop by finance standards.
