I really doubt many people here are going to be able to give a great response to this question as really it is dependent on large macro elements in my opinion. But I am hoping for as soon as possible.

How would you play this situation as an undergrad looking to break into the market in next 3-6 months

I was starting to see an uptick in roles being posted. However there are still hundreds of applicants for each role and i am not seeing competitive pay (nyc based roles). I was hoping for hiring to pick up early next year, however inflation is looking to be quite sticky. The fed may signal more rate increases, which will likely cause another pull back in hiring.

No one here knows the answer to this question lol

My guess is it might be a while though. Oak tree put out a good prediction regarding a fundamental change to investing that could have some legs to it
- if anything in here is true it could be years before this sorts itself out.

Like I said I have no idea what’s happening right now but it’s hard not to think investing might be a little different going forward in the near term.

Heard companies are making decisions for next year now/to late November. That's either a January start or mid year start from what I've seen.

Seems next year when people get bonuses and make moves at the junior level will help as well.

I think owners know now if they need capital and could make reductions this year. I don't know why they'd wait until mid next year, a lot of firms have already seen values drop on office and the multi side and are figuring out solutions. Companies have been going under and that will continue, but many owners will need help and there are one's with capital as well. Not so doom and gloom survive until 25, we've been in this for over a year and transactions need to happen as some point to get things moving. Even in 08 there wasn't a 2.5 year time to recovery, you're seeing the bid/ask spread tighten and deals are closer to being made and that's now from the last year as well.

Recent grad and am extremely nervous about this. Currently in 0 interview processes but very actively networking.

took me the entire year last year of networking every day and not doing anything else to land a job. ended up being kinda luck. keep pushing even when it doesn’t feel like anything is happening. things end up working out
