Lying About A Second Major On Resume to Pass Resume Check

I go to a strong target but I am having trouble with FT recruiting. I am majoring in Finance but thinking of adding something like Sustainability as a second major because I want to apply to infrastructure PE and dont want to not pass the resume check.

What I am asking is during background screening, if they realize I don't do the second major, would that be an issue.

Put finance major - if you get asked about sustainability related questions in your interview it’ll be clear that you didn’t study it but they’d expect you to understand it. If you put finance major but know a lot about sustainability, then you’d exceed their expectations given they wouldn’t think you’d know a lot about the sector
