Rip apart my CV

First year maths student looking to apply for spring weeks. Little financial background but large financial interest. See what the worst you can notice about my CV. Any form of criticism will be greatly appreciated. Worried about the white space but not much else I can fill it with.CV

I am absolutely no expert as im just a graduate myself. But I would write a section on your education with a couple bullet points about relevant modules and projects you have worked on where you used good teamwork etc basically demonstrate some skills you have and how you picked them up through experiences.

Look, you’re young and thus you’re not going to be expected to have a whole lot of experience. However, I have two points:

1. Please tone down what you’re saying about your experience. I get that you want to demonstrate impact, but you’re stacking shelves and handing out takeaways. You did not improve efficiency by 15% with an innovative solution, nor did you implement disruptive strategies which completely overhauled the entire takeaway industry. An essential part of any job in finance or professional services is being able to back up what you say, and it’s very likely that an interviewer would apply some pressure to figure out exactly how you’ve determined that you saved an entire ASDA 15% on their labour costs as a summer checkout assistant. You’re inviting unwanted pressure on yourself. Don’t sell yourself short, but be more realistic with your achievements.

2. Your CV is bare. Again, I get that you’re young and I wouldn’t expect you to have tonnes of experience, but half of the page is white space. You really can’t talk about any additional extracurriculares, sports, volunteering etc? Right now, it says “very smart maths kid with basically nothing else in his life”.

It’s nearly there. Give it another spin and you’ll be fine.
