Tell me if this is BS
Hey WSO Community,
I recently came across a resume that stated they executed 20+ IPOs in one sector in about 12-14 months (2019/2020). That seems really high for one person to have worked on so many IPOs but I don’t have experience with IPOs. Is that reasonable/realistic or BS? I’m sure it depends on the person’s involvement in the IPOs (think new analyst) but wanted to get a sense.
Thoughts?
Very possible if it was tech, as they dominated the IPOs in 2019/2020s (especially mid 2020s after COVID panic died out very quickly). Would be cautious if it was any other sector unless they were at a top 3 bulge bracket. The only place I see where this is possible is NY MS.
GS in NYC? Does that make it more believable? What type of work does a new analyst do on 20 IPOs?
