Best School for IBD?

It's that time of year...

While none of the listed schools are HYPSM level, I would like to know if any of these are objectively better when it comes to pursuing a career in investment banking.

The schools I have to select from are: University of Michigan - LSA (60K Annual), U of F (30 K Annual), Baylor (25K Annual), Tulane (25K Annual), Fordham (20K Annual), BYU (15K Annual), FSU Honors (15K Annual).

Thanks again for the help.

If you’re Mormon, BYU is a no brainer cheap option. School being boring aside, the IB club is pretty organized and places decently well. You also get the benefit of fooling people into thinking you could get into a much better school: e.g. “Oh he could have gone to NYU with those scores but he’s mormon so he chose BYU instead”. However, the downside is you have to go to BYU which is a terrible college experience. The above benefits imo don’t outweigh this last point unless you’re LDS and are fine being in that environment.

tough call boss.. really can make an argument for all of these schools. UMich is best brand name and LSA kids still break in every year. UofF/FSU (Honors doesn't matter) great price and competitive clubs with great placement if you stay ahead of the curve and they'd be lower competition (i.e., you're competing with bozos and can really stand out in front of alumni). BYU a steal but only go there if you like culture/fit or else you'll probably kys before you begin recruiting. Fordham in the city but with CoL likely will be as pricey as other schools. Tulane also great school + on the come up, but I'd likely remove this from your list (although it is likely the hardest school to get into from the list).

UMich (if money isnt an issue) > BYU > Fordham > U of F > rest

BYU for some reason places very well. Its also targetted by Q

would you say byu recruiting is levels above fordham ? i got a full tuition scholarship to fordham so the two schools are basically the same sticker price for me . utah culture isn’t really for me , but it’s something i’m sure i could tolerate and grow into . new york is obviously unparalleled but if i’m gonna be stuck working at northwestern mutual because i went to fordham then that’s something to take into account . thanks .

Yes. Unless you are diversity, Fordham will be an uphill climb. I will say that BYU places very well. Though, you'll just have to soak for your time being if you'll go there.
