Colleges with the best opportunities for IB?
Other than the obvious top tier super targets, what are other schools that provide great opportunities in IB, but maybe not as well known? I’m a junior in HS with pretty good grades and I am looking to apply to targets to semi targets that place well in IB, but aren’t very hard to get into. My grades are pretty competitive, so I’m just looking for some colleges as safeties if I don’t get into the top tier targets. any advice would also be appreciated.
I would take a look at this list https://www.wallstreetoasis.com/forums/2020-hard-data-on-target-school-…. This is a pretty good list of schools that do well in finance even though this list is a little screwy as it doesn't take per capita placement into account. (Example is Brown which is a semi on this list but is a target in reality due to the ease of getting and IB job due to low student interest). I would say if made this list per capita you would have a really good list of true targets.
Besides that, I can't honestly think of any true targets that are "easy" to get into. All t-30 colleges are such a crapshoot unless you go to a certain tier of high schools, you are a legacy, or you are an URM. Maybe if you're lucky your state school is an alright feeder into IB which can be a good safety in some cases. Right now I would just focus on where you're going to apply early and really research that school so you can create a stellar essay (which I believe is really the ultimate factor in college applications).
Lastly, one thing I've been really surprised to see over the past couple of days is how strong a feeder Georgetown is for IB. I knew it was a target school, but the data seems to show it does get super good placement. Obviously, Georgetown is still a super competitive school to get into, but it isn't AS bad as say trying to get into Wharton if you have no hooks. Good luck!
thanks for the response! very helpful

This is another resource that may be a easier to use because it takes into account school size
Yeah that list is overall pretty good but imo there are some schools that should be lower/higher. Like Georgetown and Stern I believe are way too low for what the data says their placement is. MIT should also not be ranked as highly as it is on that list.
What the fuck.
Edit: Maybe look at the other 5000 extremely detailed and numerous posts on this topic before creating yet another one. Also, to answer your other threads: Yes, you can get into BB IB from UF. My cousin is currently at JPM. But no, you won't be able to because you spam the boards with posts titled "How do I get into an investment bank" when that is literally what 75% of the posts on this board are about.
Good college to get into IB from : Any but UF.
what is the issue?!
