Graduating Year Early 3.8 GPA Non Target........MSF Next?
Hey WSO,
I will be graduating a year early next semester with a 3.8 GPA from a small public non target school. Additionally, I am in the Student Managed Investment Fund, advise for our university's small business start up program, and perform research assistant work for a professor. I really want to get an IB/PE role but didn't gain interest until this year. I'm also interested in PERE and REIT positions as well. I have been networking extensively with alumni and have received solid advice but no offers or interviews. I have decent extracurriculars but no relevant experience in banking. I have an internship as a Commercial Credit Analyst which I use to pay the bills and get through school. When I apply for internship/analyst opportunities, recruiters seem to focus on this experience rather than my desired career and I am thinking that a MFS would give me a perfect opportunity to revamp myself and give time to network with a larger group of alumni.
Should I attempt to get my MFS to substitute for my year of graduating early and how reputable of a program do you think I can get into (assuming a decent GMAT score)? Is it too late in the year to take the GMAT and apply for these programs for attendance next fall?
Hi GenZMilli, any of these discussions helpful:
If those topics were completely useless, don't blame me, blame my programmers...
