Lehigh or UMD

I'm interested in ib and was accepted ed to lehigh. However, we didn't get any financial aid (which was a surprise). My parents said they would pay for it if I really wanted to go but I was wondering if it will be worth it to go over Maryland (in-state). I know Lehigh's accounting program is pretty good but if I wanted to do accounting, I can just go to Maryland because going to Lehigh wouldn't give me much of an advantage in that area. The day to pay the deposit is coming up soon and I was just wondering if anyone could provide some insight what would be the best option.

I know a handful of UMCP alumni at BBs like MS and BAML. A couple are at PE MFs but they have MBAs from HSW. The business school is also a feeder for Big 4 recruiting. However, I have yet to meet anyone from Lehigh in IB or S&T.

I don't think lehigh is worth the substantial extra cost. I know UMD grads in IB and MM PE. Get good grades and start networking early since you know what you want.

Thank you everyone for your feedback but I have decided to go to Lehigh. I received a pretty substantial merit aid award today and while it will still cost more than UMD, my parents and I both think it is worth it.

def is. While both are not full-on "target," Lehigh is much closer to semi-target than UMD, not to mention full of rich connected kids to network with whose families themselves probably are somewhat connected on the Street. Also, a lot more FO/MO Lehigh alumns than UMD alumns (at least proportional to the size of the finance major)
